The Econofoil® system is our latest flexible rotary tooling product offering here, at UEI® Falcontec. We created it after years of research and development, in our constant search of how to boost production while keeping the operation costs at bay. So, we came up with Econofoil® 2mm sleeves and mandrels. Wherever you look now, there is no other product on the market that produces the efficiencies and cost-savings like it does.
Utilizing a customizable die sleeve, it fits onto a reusable and economically priced mandrel. We manufacture the Econofoil® 2mm die sleeves from our special copper and steel-backed metal. Together, they offer the right combination of flexibility and rigidity needed for easy sleeve mounting and removal.
The 2mm wide seam increases the overall usable space of the sleeve, which allows for more flexibility with the artwork and potentially increases the number of repeats per sleeve.
We made it very user-friendly, for an easy and quick changeover. The majority of Econofoil® 2mm die sleeves weigh less than 5 lbs. (2 kgs), making them easy to handle and store.
Econofoil® 2mm dies typically cost between 40–60% less than engraved brass hot stamping cylinders. They are designed to run on Econofoil® 2mm aluminum mandrels, which are one-third the price of a magnetic cylinder used for a UniFlex® die. The Econofoil® 2mm tools are not priced on image complexity but on the overall size of the sleeve.
